Transportation is provided for students whenever a scheduled event is taking place at Mt. Irenaeus.
"Students are welcome anytime," Father Dan said.
Students should call the friars living at Mt. Irenaeus first and tell them that they are coming to ensure that they have enough food ready for dinner, Father Dan said.
"A lot of our life sets us up for anxiety about who we are and how we present ourselves," Father Dan said. "The Mountain allows people to explore their faith. I think it's important for young people to discover who they are."
Lauren Kearney, a freshman journalism major, who has visited Mt. Irenaeus four times, has already discovered how it provides an atmosphere where students can meditate about their religion and easily relax.
"I'm more of a religious person, but you don't have to be religious to go there," Kearney said. "It's so beautiful up there, and I love walking the trails. It's so personal."
The overall response about Mt. Irenaeus is that it's a retreat with a friendly, atmosphere similar to the comforts of home. Its mission is to help all who visit it to relax and reach a state of mind that Father Dan calls re-creation.
"We're committed to people becoming extraordinarily alive," Father Dan said. "We're hopeful we can create a new and better world."

Life on campus can be pretty stressful sometimes with all the exams and papers long due. I remember those times. Compared to the real life, that was the most relaxing time of my life. (Continued…)
