Spring Weekend, one of the most anticipated times of the school year, has finally arrived. Students eagerly wait all year for the university event that allows them to cut loose before the anxiety and stress of finals week. However, students need to be safe and sensible throughout Spring Weekend to ensure everyone has the best time possible.
Everyone has heard it before: have fun but be safe and responsible. It seems like old news, but it is important to heed the warnings about alcohol abuse. Safety is especially pertinent this year with the alcohol-related deaths of a SUNY Brockport and a SUNY Geneseo student. These deaths could have been easily avoided if the students involved acted responsibly.
Spring Weekend promises to be one of the highlights of the school year. If people use common sense, and avoid abusing alcohol, this weekend will be safe and fun for everyone. So go out, play in the softball tournament, enjoy the concerts and have fun with your friends at all of the other festivities. Just be safe. Be responsible. And have a wonderful Spring Weekend.
