"An anonymous family was up for Parent's Weekend, and they learned of the late-night Bona Bus, and they praised what the bus does for the campus community," Maddeaux said. "I would like to thank them for their donation to cover the damages because SGA no longer directly has to pay for these damages to the bus."
Maddeaux also presented the motion for the SGA senate to recommend the Sustainability Commission to host more Sustainable Bona's Day on campus this year. The SGA senate unanimously approved Maddeaux's motion for the Sustainability Commission.
According to a Special Notice Board sent Tuesday afternoon, the Sustainability Commission said it would sponsor the first Sustainability Day this year that took place yesterday, Oct. 22.
Dave Sine, SGA vice president , told senators he would attend the American Student Government Association Conference (ASGA) in Chicago, this weekend. The trip will include all of the executive board, the junior and sophomore class presidents and two additional senators, Sine said.
"I am looking forward to bringing back new ideas from what others have to offer, and I also think that this trip will also be a great benefit for purposes outside of SGA too," Sine said.
Senators announced, WSBU-FM 88.3 The Buzz will be sponsoring a three-day-long Breast Cancer awareness event next Monday through Wednesday. Students involved with the radio station will be selling t-shirts and wristbands in the Reilly Center.
Bands The Wheel and Paul's Grandfather will also be playing a concert in The Rathskeller next Wednesday night to help with fundraising efforts for the Breast Cancer Awareness event. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Foundation.
